Stone Arch: Somersville Mfg Co. Somers, CT

This bricked in archway mystified me. It is just there as if the ground covering the lower opening was not there at one time. Perhaps they filled in an entrance to a lower level 100 years ago? The building is far too decayed and dangerous to enter so I may never know.
